Last saturday 26 April,  took place an historic match: “a battle of 80 goals”. It was 33 years ago, in 1975 when something like this happened in Argentina and it was named “The match of the Century”.

With 3000 spectators, the spectacular event exhibited 10 from 12 polo players that have the best qualification in the world: 10 goals of handicap. The players that participated  were: Adolfo Cambiaso, Ignacio Heguy, Miguel Novillo Astrada, Marcos and Bautista Heguy, Agustín Merlos, Facundo and Gonzalo Pieres, Pablo Mac Donough and Bartolomé Castagnola. Due to personal responsibilities, Mariano Aguerre and Lucas Monteverde didn´t take part in the match.

The Argentine Polo Players Association named the two teams "Granaderos" and "Patricios" after two local “criollos” traditional armies.  They played eight  chukkers and the winner was “Granaderos”. The money raised was  donated to three different ONGs.
